Grease is very flammable. Once something starts burning, anything near enough also goes up. The kitchen is (often) full of flammable items, often carelessly placed. So, yeah. Definitely can happen.

Grease also floats, burning grease doubly so. So if a fire starts, the first instinct is to throw water on it, which just spreads the flames.

Smother a grease fire. Use an extinguisher. Hell, throw a shitload of salt on it. Don't throw water.

The characters in xkcd don't have faces, so why would their emojis have faces either?

Moon Solar Transit (ISS Solar Transit 2 (1830)) [transcript]
moon_solar_transit.png
Much more exciting than when the ISS does it!

Eclipsing Telescope (Occulting Telescope (975)) [transcript]
eclipsing_telescope.png
Just think of all the astronomy you could do with the sun gone!

The Moon (Shoot for the Moon (1291), The Sun (673)) [transcript]
the_moon.png
Shoot the moon! Even if you miss, you'll end up with lots of points! Wait, those are a bad thing. Shoot!

What I thought of when reading today's comic:
Spoiler:
What's Super Effective (What to Bring (1890)) [transcript]
whats_super_effective_2x.png
Charmander used Oil Fire. It's super effective! Enemy Squirtle fainted.

...and a comic I thought of right after the eclipse.
Shoot for the Sun (Shoot for the Moon (1291)) [transcript]
shoot_for_the_sun_2x.png
Shoot for the sun! If you miss, then at least you're much less likely to burn up.

Eclipse (Election (500)) [transcript]

I just have to worry about regular traffic and whether there will be clouds on regular days.
