I've decided to make a card game where the player is a brilliant scientist and is trying to create various inventions. These inventions should be considered "impossible" for humanity right now. So far I've came up with
-Antimatter Rocket
-Space Elevator
-Fusion Reactor
-Dyson Sphere
-Quantum Computer
-Time Dilation Device
-Wormhole Generator
-Teleporter
-Faster than Light Drive
-Hard Hologram
I have 10 ideas but I'd like to start out with 20. Does anybody have ideas for 10 future inventions that are far beyond human creation. Jetpack and Laser weapon are not good examples because we technically can make them, we just haven't mass produced them yet. I'm looking for 10 truly futuristic ideas that are "impossible"

Don't we already have those? Admittedly the largest still has only 16 or so qubits, so I guess you could have a "Megabit Quantum Computer" or something.Maximum7 wrote:Quantum Computer

Force field
Life sign detector
Time machine (different from a time dilation device)
That little hand-held thing in Star Trek that shines light on a cut to heal it instantly
Conscious computer/electronic brain (upload yours, or create a new one!)
Virtual reality social scene (meet up in a simulated place in a customized body with others from around the world)
Tractor/Pressor Beams
Self-assembling vehicles/houses/anything
Cure for aging
Thought Communication (Neuralink)
...Came across this website that might help you out as well (if you've got a couple hours to comb through all that!).

Re: My Future Invention card game
Fusion Power Plant (although some would argue that we are close)
Space Fountain
Something that turns food into electricity efficiently
Macroscopic Cloning (physics kind)
Black Hole Power Plant (stuff going into black holes give off a lot of energy, so you should be able to convert random materials into electricity)
Algorithm that can reliably predict stack market changes

Re: My Future Invention card game
Stasis field
Human level AI (H/V 1+)
Fission suppression field
Dark matter manipulator
Matter inverter (convert particles to their antimatter equivalents)
Neutronium stabilization
Gravity gun / projector
Cloaking device
Full-body cyberization (which goes great with the brain simulation and a mind upload)

Could you limit this to just one thread and not do what "Maximum77" did on this site:

To those who missed it, OOTS is the "other great stick figure comic" on the internet. It might not have any other similarity as it is a long flowing story set in a fantasy world (D&D specific and started out calling out jokes based on rule silliness) while xkcd is a series of (mostly) one offs about math, science, and technology.

You realize that I have to read this now.

Lucky you. [shades of https://www.xkcd.com/1053/ and the experience of seeing coke&memtos for the first time]
Re: My Future Invention card game
You could get some mileage out of having some sort of random adjective + noun combination pairs for the inventions, with each contributing toward their in-game goals. It would make the inventions a bit zanier but helps with replay value.
Then you can also do things like having the noun be known to everyone, but the adjective is a secret goal, or having other players be able to change your adjective.
So taking your first four apart, you get:
Adjectives:
Antimatter
Space
Fusion
Dyson
Nouns:
Rocket
Elevator
Reactor
Sphere
And the player would draw one from each at random, possibly getting an Antimatter Elevator or a Fusion Rocket.
