Re the latest few BSTAs: whatever that event was that made the building and a good-sized chunk of the surrounding ground vanish, clearly it created no shockwave of any consequence, else the bike that was literally standing just centimetres outside the event's area of effect would have been knocked over.
My conclusion: the building and the surrounding ground did not just vanish, they were replaced by (exchanged for?) a corresponding volume of air. (Possibly also some air surrounding the building was replaced by/exchanged for other air.)
ETA: Oh, pope. Decree: Have a nice wipend and first Advent Sundip!
Edit: Some heresy removed from decree.

M'BLINDPOST. *TIPS QUACKMOLPY*
Oh dear, I have do some ketchup on bsta, keep reading Quelova, and maybe blitz Homestuck. Oh, and I think I still need to read the last AotC. I'm not in the basement, but I do keep heading out the the shed. (Which reminds me that I need to go out to my actual shed and clean it out.) Y'all continue to be creative, which is awesomeful.
Speaking of which, steakish OTTercomic, Zooman!
And welcome forward, Sehwho! Good luck on your blitz. Of course, you could just hang out in the present, and go back to the past when you have Time. Your post reminds me how grateful I am to Balthawhiz for creating the mirror.
The holiday concert season has started, but hopefully I'll have Time to do the requisite blitzing/ketchup soon.

Wow, it's like BJ here just decided to make fun of every blitzer making their way through, ahah.
Also, I suppose I don't get to quite call this a "blitz," since that would imply speed...I'm only 27 pages in. Guess it'll be a while before I catch up with the rest of yall

Ah yes, just what I've been missing from our modern Reddits and such: A signature! Whatever did we used to put in these? Uhhhhhhhhh

Re: 1190: "Time"
A blitz is not about how fast you're going, it's about the journey.
And I supose BJ is right, that it's impossible to have exactly the same experience as those who were around at the beginning if Time. But that doesn't mean that it's a less valuable experience. A Blitzer can be in the present and the past at the same time, which is pretty treeish.

Re: 1190: "Time"
Did anyone see the Moon last night?
It was Huge and Bright.
A local woman came to take me out to see it.
The air was Cold and still. It was Beautiful.
The Moon stayed up until SunUp.
Were we the only ones to notice?

If I understand it right, last night was a "Supermoon".
Those tend to be very, very bright, and very visible when normally you wouldn't notice the moon.

Re: 1190: "Time" (Warning: Outside!)
What is this "supermoon" thing??? There's no such thing as a "moon". That's why there are no tides, and why it was so surprising that the sea was rising.
There are rumors of some heretical "before-Time" time where there was this "thing" in the sky... but you shouldn't take that seriously. Next you'll start to believe in colors, and clothing... and after that everything turns into a psychadelic orgy.
Ancient legends depict this putative "moon" as having an elliptical orbit, whose closest approach differs by 14% from its furthest approach. So, the moon would appear 14% wider, and therefore have 30% more visible area to shine on the earth. (1.14^2=1.30) So yeah, brighter. But not that much brighter than the previous mip's moon, because the full moon has to coincide with this closest approach, which it doesn't (it cycles around over the course of the almost-yip). So, even in ancient legends, the super-moon wasn't all that super.
Now that there's no moon at all, legends get amplified, and it's hard to tell fact from fiction.
Be careful out there! The Outside is strange and seductive.

Of course there is no moon.
Ans so, there definitely is no possibility to hide secret places on it since there is no it to hide secret places on.
I don't know where all this legends about moons and things are coming from.

You could actually fly a reasonably small remote-control device to the moon and use it to slowly draw such a message. Solar-powered, so running out of power is unlikely to be an issue.

I guess I should introduce myself briefly here, too.
Although I'm 4.75 years late to the party, I have essentially signed up to this forum just for this thread. Since discovering it on Wednesday evening, I am already at ~p.60 (which is still only 2.3%, I know). As I didn't actually start reading xkcd regularly until May 2016 I completely missed this; I therefore love being able to read the steadily-advancing comic and the reactions, but without having to wait half an hour each time! Perhaps not quite the intended spirit, but never mind. Let's see how far I can actually get with it!

Thank you! I found the wiki before I found this thread, which was somewhat confusing, but never mind. It's fun seeing the terms in the glossary be coined in the thread.
I think I will have to join the present when (if) I get bored. I still feel it will require a little back-reading just to make sense of it though!

Welcome ColletArrow! Join us in the present any time, and in the past at any Time! By blitzing the thread, you will probably get to see Time in its own time, since it will probably take a newpix per newpix. The thread was that fast at times. It is a most unique experience; ask any BlitzGirl (including the first BlitzGirl, BlitzGirl herself: BlitzGirl the First. But there are many ways to Time, blitzing or not!

Hi and huge welcome, ColletArrow!
Attempting to Read It All is a most wonderful quest known as "Blitzing". I've done it, as have many others
There are a lot of truly great gems hidden within the NewPages. If you come across anything of particular interest or fun, be sure to quote it! We get a kick out of seeing pastposts revisited and commented on by a new Blitzer.
It's so wonderful to welcome a new face!
In unrelated DnD news, I've started the creation of my character for the next campaign once this one wraps up. He's going to be a Bard, going all-out on Glam Rock. He is Proficient in:
* Musical Instrument: Guitar (Electric)
* Perform: Dance
* Perform: Pyrotechnics
The other party members happen to have skills that will complement this, such as being able to craft disco balls, pyrotechnic equipment, stage props... My character and I are both going to rock the hell out, and it's going to be EPIC. When I make a character I go ALL IN.

Let me add my welcome to ColletArrow! I wish you well on your blitz. You can skim-blitz, or schizo-blitz (move back and forth between past and present), so many options. There are many ways to Time. I'll refer you to this post of balthasar's in which he refers Sehwho to the mirror that b created. It will help you avoid coming across dead links or missing images in the actual thread.

missing images - yes. dead links - no (unless they are links to attachments here or to images posted here), I'm not saving the whole Internet. Only what's actually on the thread.lmjb1964 wrote:I'll refer you to this post of balthasar's in which he refers Sehwho to the mirror that b created. Re: 1190: "Time"
Welcome, ColletArrow, Revealer the Recent! If you take on the most glorious quest of blitzing the thread, we here in the present appreciate the occasional blitzpost, i.e. posts where you tell us of your progress so far and your thoughts about what you encountered.
BSTA continues:
So, less being someone else for a while, more waiting for it. This looks RELATED and, moreover, hopefully like the first part of understanding everything or at least a lot more. I approve.

Mostly active on the One True Thread.
If you need help understanding what's going on there, the xkcd Time Wiki may help.
Addams didn't die! But will Addams have a place to live? You can help!
Randallspeed to all blitzers on the One True Thread!

Looks like we don't want to become another guy again without knowing what's going on.

AH! Finally some space to breathe, if briefly…
At the moment the sky looks a little bit like our lakes, and there's a bright yellow skycircle in the midst of it.
It's warm, but not too hot (although that, as usual, is relative: it's not too hot in my house, in front of a fan).
It's been like this since yesterdip morning, after the sky being uncolored for a while.
Greetings, ColletArrow! Temperance is recommended for any Uni-related matters (source: self). Good luck! [We all need it!]
ggh, if your typeof ketchup.length === 'undefined', then how do you measure it?
Peaceful Whale, that's an interesting CAW sequence. Also, welcome!
TimeLurker! Welcome back!! Is it the time of year, or have we slowed down that much?
Indeed, count me in for the virtual hug.
Here's to many more hair donations, lmjb!
While I believe I can say I've mostly ketchupped, there are a few known-missing posts, such as the latest AotC and all of the QONGs. That is a lot of QONGs, by the way. I should probably rewatch BFTF and BSTA as well.
Good luck on your blitz, ColletArrow! Try not to get lost in the past!
Neil! Welcome back! …And why are you fading?
SehWho!
I see ED is joining the Seven Years party – or was that never the case?
Re. BSTA: Is this how we get the moonbase?
karheel has a very appropriate post count at the moment >:)
ED, I might have missed it, but did anything come out of that xkcd gamejam? (I do seem to remember reading a followup to it.)
Be safe y'all!
