I voted for Diamond/Pearl. Each generation GameFreak has added to the battling aspect and made it better, so I guess that's why. I love the physical/special split and a BUNCH of old Pokemon that needed evolutions got them, so...GO D/P!

Not to put down the other 3 generations.

I still have all of my Pokémon cards. There are what I would consider to be way too many of them. Didn't get a console until the initial craze had more or less passed, and even then it was a PlayStation, so I don't really have much experience of the Gameboy games. I quite liked Pokémon Stadium at the time, though.

For me would have to be crystal and yellow (crystal is just silve/gold with improvements, yellow is just red/blue with improvements.) Played the hell out of them the last year of school. I was always into creating weird pokemon with the glitches they left in the game (missingo, coastal snorlax ect.) Combined with the item dupe i remember getting a fucked up snorlax from the coast and using rare candy to get him up to level 199, his life bar took up 3 lengths of the screen. Also got mew threw the forced spawn you could do in the first generation of games (just google it if you want to know how.) What killed the games for me was when we got a little thing called the monster brain. It was a cartridge you plug the games into that then plugs into your gameboy (think like sonic and knuckles on the genesis.) You could basically generate any pokemon with any stats, any item, give yourself all the badges, teleport abilities and be able to save multiple games onto the monster brain. I guess cheating does take the fun out of a game.

I still have a soft spot in my heart for G/S/C (though I never actually played Crystal. I thought they hit a good balance between the (relatively) small number of pokémon in the first generations and the added features of the later generations. (Though this might have something to do with the fact that it was after those games that I stopped caring about pokémon).

But yeah, missingno was great, if only for the complete chaos it caused. However, if you want to experiment with messed up missingno, I recommend an emulator of some sort...

You know, the games would be so much better if they changed the formula just the tiniest bit. I mean, there was a weak sort of storyline in all of them, but it always circles back to "i wants ta be a mastah!!1"

Why can't I join up with Team Rocket or whoever and be a pokemon thief? Why aren't there any awesome side-quest chains? Why can't I start my own gym?

Silly as it sounds, I'll bet Pokemon would make a hella-decent MMO if they had the right people developing it.

Oh yeah, and I'm pretty sure Ruby/Sapphire was the best. It had reasonably epic storyline, and some cute/cool critters to collect.

Hmm...Guild = Gym, Any player desiring your gym's badge would have to go defeat x guild members and the guild leader to get it, then you have a leaderboard of players with the most badges. Simple.

Ahh, Pokemanz. I got Yellow Version when I was like seven, along with my very first handheld, a Game Boy Color. I finished it quickly, and caught and trained my favorite Pokemon ever, Mewtwo (yeah I know it's not very original shut up). When I got Silver, I traded over my favorites from Yellow, and then over to Crystal once I got that. I really liked Crystal more than Yellow. If you ask me, they're adding improvements with each successive generation, but the core gameplay mechanic is becoming tired. I'm sure the features in Pearl and Diamond are excellent compared to Crystal, but it's really the same thing repackaged again with a few new fun extras. Nevertheless, I still pull out the old cartridge and play it every once in a while. G/S+C is definitely my favorite generation, although as I haven't played anything after Ruby/Sapphire, I may not be the most objective of judges.

Gold/Silver were (IMO) easily the best.

1) New and old pokemon.
2) Better (and more balanced) PokeTypes.
3) HUGE MAP.
4) You get to re-face the old Gym Leaders, so if you had memories about those Leaders, it was like nostalgia with a twist
5) The plot line was a little more interesting.
6) The replayability is amazing. There were some Pokemon I only knew about until the third time I played.

Does anyone else want a Pokemon MMORPG? I would die if they came out with a balanced, good, and fun PokeMMORPG.

I remember playing ye olde Pokemon Silver when you head back to Kanto and are fighting the original 8 Gyms. Blaine on Cinnabar Island (Fire leader) had a nice Magmar that would quite often pull out a Thunderpunch, which certainly screwed you if all you had was an equivalent level Gyarados.

Fixed that spelling for you. <_< And yes, it's my special sponge. And it is hard to kill unless you're doing obscene amounts of damage anyway. Best part is it doesn't really mind most statuses.

I usually Dance ASAP, then either use Hypnosis or Gyro Ball if it's worth it, switch otherwise. Explosion is filler more than anything, but it's useful for destroying Blissey on occasion.

I haven't actually faced one with this team in particular, but I'd imagine both Bronzong and Toxicroak could do some damage, and Ludicolo could stall for a while, though Leech Seed won't work on the tree.
