Hay came first, which means yes. Besides, I'm already halfway into the bottle.

(Hay = Aye, envelope = nope, just so you know. Yes, I know hay rhymes with nay as well).

Edit: I'm now tipsy. The tipsy where I act out emotes and say stuff loud instead of just in my head. My sister just came into my room asking me if I had the keys for our house because she had been locked out. The combination of non-sobrirety, 1am and kid sister freaked me out.

Also, 1am makes me feel lonely. If anyone wants to talk, add me to your msn. I promise I'll be drunk.

So last night we had a birthday party for a friend and I went and got drunk. I wasn't intending to get that drunk, but I did. On Southern Comfort and Sailor Jerry's. But I had fun. The birthday girl brought her violin and we all sat in the living room with guitars and did a rousing group rendition of "Jolene". It was AWESOME. Pictures once I locate the camera.

Low cost solution: Baby lotion (any kind of lotion really, the more sensitive the better) on tissue or cotton balls or whatever. Even if you don't get it all off, you can clean up a little bit. Raccoon eyes are NOT cool, even on your sexy self. Unless you're a raccoon, I guess.

Why wait til the evening ;D

And in other news, lunch beers, while normally an awesome idea, are not so good when the rest of your day is going to be spent snowboarding, especially not when the "s" indicates four. Owowow I hurt. It was icy.

That and the thing about "i'm not drunk if i can lie down without holding on" is not a joke. I actually had a friend get so drunk that she was having trouble lying down. she kept somehow sliding up to and off the head of the flat mattress we were lying on and hitting her head on the floor. I had to grab hold of her and hold her very tightly. Not that i had any problems with that ;D. The holding her hair out the the toilet while she was sick for the entire rest of the night was, however less entertaining.

I also have many other stories that i can't quite remember. Gosh i drink a lot. I've been averaging 3 drinks a day over the last month or two. Can't decide whether or not that is awesome. And damn that took a long time to type. cursed perfectionism making me go back and iron out all the spelling and grammatical errors. Or at least some of them.

In Germany they have a saying: Kein bier vor vier.

Basically it means "No beer before four"

I interpret it as "No beer before 4am", but that's just me...

That reminds me of one disasterous post-party breakfast. We'd stopped drinking around... Uh, 6. And we all ended up awake at 7. Decided breakfast would be a good idea. We ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT agree on a place to go. The Colonial Diner was too far away and we'd DUI directly into a tree. Dennys sucks. Starlight is expensive, and Dover Diner is... Intelligently designed. So we sent out the least drunk of us to Giant to retrieve some bacon, eggs, and bread. However, we may have slightly misjudged who was the least drunk of us, because when he got back, the bacon he had was made almost exclusively of fat. Attempts to cook it resulted in burnt pork fat instead of delicious bacon. Somehow, scrambled eggs did not go well either, and ended up dry and clumpy.

Then we all went back to sleep after our delicious breakfast of toast and crappy eggs.

Mmm, egg and bacon. I once caused a whole cadre of fellow party-goers feelings of nausea followed by lengthy expulsion of stomach content by making breakfast before going to school on the morning after a particuarly successfull evening/night/early morning.

God, how happy I am that I never get hung over. Going by my fellow human's behaviour, the experience is not to be longed for.

omgod, I can't believe i had to use the search function to find this thread. *bump*! Anyway, yeah, I type much better when I'm slightly tipsy it seems. Also, Magnetic Fields on full volume rocks. Why does full volume sound less noisy when you're not completeley sober? Mystery. Firefox doesn't like the word 'omgod', wtf. Or 'Firefox'?? Your spellcheck feature is the fail, Firefox. Anyway, going to watch some Peepshow now.

I didnt know if I wanted a manhattan or a Rob Roy, so I used a shot each of scotch and rye and made like a rob manhattan or something. Oh, and a couple of drops of all three representatives of my bitters stash (angostura, fee bros orange, regans no6 orange). just cause. But the vermouth was just as usual. Now i'm nearly sober again anyway. And should really be showering and going to bed to get sleep for work. dammit.

hehe the 4's were my fiance, who came over to kiss me and make sure i'm not feeling neglected, and then got kylie'd by the fact that i'm psoting in the drnuk thread. the 4 is a reference to earlier today when we were doing kakuro together, and i kept finding numbers, and they were all 4 somehow. that probably sounds a lot less funnier than it was :P

Re: The drnuk thread

Postby TizzyFoe » Thu Jan 24, 2008 5:31 am UTC

This happened about an hour ago.

I was pretty drunk (somewhere between tipsy and drunk) and at a friends house. At said friends house i had some vodka but nothing to mix it with. Friend A (who lives at the house and works at subway) tells me friend B (who also live at the house an works at subway) is working tonight so i should head over and get some pop to use as a mixer. But its just past closing and thus the front door is locked so he says i should go in the back. I say, something along the lines of i'd be to uncomfortable to just go in the back. I'm afraid he might think i'm trying to rob the place or something. But friend A tells be that it would be much easier on friend B if i just went in the back because then he would have to unlock the door. So i head over, looking in the front window i only see friend B working so i head around and enter the unlocked back door.

An alarm goes off. It doesn't sound like anything serious just a beep to let the workers now that the door was opened. I turn around the corner to see some person who i dont know. She ask, "umm can i help you?!" Startled and rather paniced i reply "umm is friend A working" she says yay, so i walk around another corner to see him. We look at each other for a second. This girl is wearing a normal uniform so i'm pretty sure she'd be fine with me stealing some pop, but i have no idea how to ask him if it safe that i'm here? After a few seconds of really awkward silence i realize the way to ask if its ok that i'm here is pretty simple. So i ask my friend "is it ok that i'm here?" He replies NO. In the 3-4 seconds i was in there i come up with a brilliant lie "hey, so friend A wanted the check for rent. You didnt answer your phone and the front door was locked." The girl i didnt know says "YA! the because were closed!" He plays along with the lie. I apologists profusely for coming in the back door and then leave.

for the next 10-15 minutes i'm worried as hell that i just got my friend fried, but then he returns to the house laughing his ass off. It turns out the girl was his boss but she had totally bought the lie and he was fine.

woot for me and my great ability to lie under pressure while drunk. Also i think a lot of the credit may have to go to luck.

Perosnally, I think that no beer before 4 is bad, if only becasue my standard drink is a vodka, anfd then a bbeer. I'm also just finbgind out hat typing whike drnbujk is rather harder than you expect it to be. TRhe problem is that I'm trying to touch-type, ansd I'm a it too much of a lightweight to be able to touch-type after the ammount I've had. I've just realised that I'm babbling, so I'm going to shut up now. Gnight.

You see, my drunkenness works in irritating stages - there's the first stage, where I have this sort of light-headed feeling, but can type and speak reasonably coherently (generally more type than speak - with typing, I can always go back and edit - with speaking, not so much :P); then there's the second stage, which comes on all of a sudden, and where I'd probably have problems finding my laptop, let alone opening it, typing in my password, accessing the XKCD forums and typing this.

However, contrary to my assessment, clearly I must be at least slightly drunk (I mean, I've drunk almost all of a bottle of wine :P), as I saw fit to come here and make a post in the drnuk thread... *shrugs* Alcohol is a strange thing...
