That is beautiful. Do you have that background as a separate file? And/or where did you get it?

It's called aquadream. I can't seem to be able to find it anywhere though, but I can just upload my edited version somewhere.

All yours. Instructions included. You'll need Samurize, of course, if you don't have it, but that's a cakewalk to install.

This has been tested on exactly one machine, so lemme know if you have problems. Enjoy. :)

I wasn't planning on posting my slightly NSFW desktop, but the screen is playing up and I want to show the world.

So a photo I took of my screen with a camera:

I thought sure someone would have mentioned wallpaper switcher.net, but it looks like I'm the first. I've got a wallpapers folder on my desktop (Which has all the icons hidden) with more than 190 high-res pics, and WPS.net switches the desktop image every half hour. You can see the Interfacelift RSS feed in my Google Deskbar, between that and Digital Blasphemy I'm pretty much set in the wallpaper department. Oh, and it doesn't show in the screen shot, but my mouse cursor is a little snowboarding stick figure I made after a discussion on how fun it would be to virtually ride one of my background pictures.

Oh, and my start menu auto-hides too. Just another anti-clutter freak.

That's Windows XP (SP3) with the Clearlooks visual style, RK launcher for a dock, and Samurize for the media info.

EDIT: Also, using this wallpaper and LClock displaying my clock using the Tw Cen font and hiding my start menu.

I meant randomly as in randomly choosing between a group. Actually, I hate having my wallpaper change regularly at all. I like consistency.

Da, it's wonderful like that. Simple set of key combos to rearrange the windows, and if there's a lot of them they get cycled out behind the main one, so just what you're working on and a few others are visible. It's really fantastic. Of course, being a minimalist WM, the only way to configure is edit source and recompile, but I don't mind that.

Hehe... this is my desktop... the CD is a mounted ISO I use for installing packages when I'm not connected to the interwebz.

Cookies for whoever can successfully name all four of the documents, and not just by filename (hint: they only leave the desktop when new versions come out, unlike everything else). More cookies to anyone who can name all the icons on the quick launch bar.

It's pretty unexciting, if you ask me. But I like it that way.

Changed some stuff. New image on the right. Got Samurize showing weather and all those charts and such at the right (and an IP address covering an annoying logo  ). Latest development build of Advanced Window Menu can tweak window styles and apply different translucency levels on focus, so I got rid of the title bar for that Notepad window, took some things out of the taskbar, and made the taskbar translucent without the annoying glitches you'd usually get from doing that. :D

(That HDD SMART display in the top right corner is broken, yes. And the weather stuff is that colour because I can still read it, but it's dark enough not to show through my translucent Textpad windows and make things unreadable.)

Minus the anime crap one of the best Windows screenshots I've seen, as it looks nothing like Windows.

Love love love it! Thanks so very much. I'm so glad you went ahead and configured the layout for me. I can see how you did it (config file in samurize) but I wouldn't want to have to do that myself. I edited it for my needs (since I don't use a laptop) and getting the CPU to read was a little tricky until I figured out it was trying to read your processor. Thanks again. Also, I LOVE launchy.
