5040x1050 doesn't scale down too well. This is three physical monitors so it doesn't actually look this continuous in front of me.

It's a windows shell replacement. The various applets (laucher, tray, VWM, etc) all work within explorer, however.

Of all the Linux color/desktop layouts I've seen, Fedora 8's was the only one I didn't feel an immediate need to change to preserve my sanity. I'm not sure what it is about it, but its color scheme just works, and works well.

the one on the left is 1280x800, and is a wacom cintiq 12" tablet. Its sitting in my lap. It moves around and is super snazzy. I've done stranger arrangements for displays before, so Ive had no difficulty in getting used to this one.
The other two are stacked vertically, both 19" CRTs running 1200x1600.

I may add a fourth display to the mix since I have the room...
I've actually got an old 17" CRT in the garage....

I put the background color as blue, marked the image align as Center, and am simply cycling it through different error messages I designed using the error message generator at http://atom.smasher.org/error/

the two I normally use are my favorite

Title: Hex Error
Image: (Pie symbol painted over as a slice of cheese)
Description: Out of cheese error
Option: Kick
Edited: Option: Access FTB
Option: DRYD FROG P1/2LLS

and the one I'm currently using

Title: 9000 Error
Image: stack of floppy discs
Description: I can;t let you do that, dave.

Option (grayed): Remove Processing Components

Then I just set it to Hide Icons and Auto-Hide Taskbar, so people think it's some error the computer is having instead of the background.

If I could remember how to do a screenshot, I would. I might be able to take a photograph, though, if I can borrow a camera with a higher rez that my cell phone.
Edit: Windows XP Home Edition, by the way, if any windows users know how to take screenshots.

What OS?

The print screen key will copy the image to the clipboard, then you can paste/save it in paint.

If you're on a Mac, the key combo Shift-Command-3 creates an image of your desktop and saves it on the desktop. Control-Command-3 copies it to the clipboard.

Here's mine:
- Base set-up is Windows XP on a 1024x768 resolution. Embarrassing as it may be, it's the highest setting this LCD can go to.
- Alienware freeware GUI theme pack (AlienGUIse if you're interested)
- The bar at the top 'ObjectDock' is part of the above set, it doesn't too much though.
- I tend to keep the desktop very uncluttered and shove everything into folders, or place a shortcut on the Quick Launch, which is fairly extensive now.
- Most of my desktop backgrounds I cycle through are off the Warcraft website.

nsmjohn, I like the first one.
JET73L, the Print Screen key copies the screen, then you can paste it into an image editor. Alt+Print Screen copies only the active window.
