I definitely read that as "what's with all the virgins all of a sudden" and was worried about how Belial would know that.

I have a switchboard in my basement with little indicator lights for everyone's virginity, everywhere.

It's powered by little voyeuristic gnomes.

The light is out. Or possibly blown. And there's a note in gnomish.

You don't really want me to transcribe it in *public* do you?

Well fuck. I was hoping you wouldn't. Because, to be honest, I have no goddamn clue how to read gnomish.

I probably should've thought the mechanism to this thing through a little bit better.

Damn right you should have. Now you're going to have to find a translator. Or make some shit up.

One of them speaks a little bit of french.

He's shaking his head a lot and saying something about potatoes. Or yams. Some kind of tuber.

And camels.

And olive oil.

I really don't know whether he's translating the note or trying to give me a recipe.

I am sure as fuck not cooking this, if it's the latter.

Does anyone know where I can hire english-speaking voyeur gnomes?

Or just ones that can operate a switch properly?

I think they've got temp agencies for that.

Also, how did your gnome know about the camel? That was years ago. During the war. Not this war, but the other one.

I'm pretty sure there are gnomish translators.

Also, I'm pretty sure that my sexual history would be incredibly boring, given the fact that I've never had sex or anything even resembling it really.

lanicita wrote:Yeah, you need to go to Providence to see the good bands... The Living Room and Lupos are great, and PPAC has the best acoustics EVER and gets some awesome bands sometimes.

I'm in college at NYU now :) It's SO nice to be away from RI.

I've been to the Living Room quite a few times. I've only been to Lupo's a few times, and that was before something happened and the radio began mentioning "Lupo's at the Strand". I assume this means they've changed locations.

I've only been to NYC once, to a club called Castle Heights. The plan to drive from NH to RI, meet up with the openning act, and catch a ride with them to the club. About a mile after we got on the highway, the van broke down. The lead guitarist lied down on the grass, and a police officer came and told him not to do that; he might be mistaken for a dead body.

The frontman and I rode in the tow truck so I could give him a lift back to the breakdown site after dropping the van off. They got rides with friends back home, I continued to NYC alone to see the headliner. After the show, one of the members invited me to the show the next day in PA. I followed his Mapquest directions backwards, and found the meetup spot. He never showed up.

I found a pay phone and called my mom. I read the address off the building across the street and had her enter it into Mapquest so I could get directions home. By the time I finally got there, I'd been awake and (mostly) driving for 37 hours.

You seem to be enjoying NYC more than I did. Remember, if you want to put off the real world a few more years, there's always grad school. I stayed on for my Master's in Electrical Engineering. What's your major?

Interesting. Are you assuming that a lit switch means virgin, or non-virgin?

And either way, your reading is skewed. Your gnome got into the drano the other day. He left a note that french-gnome is translating as...

"Ne mangez pas les pantalons"

....Fuck it, I'm engineering some meerkats to run this thing.

Come to think of it, I should work out a dishwasher run by meerkats. That would solve a few problems.

Ok, I was talking to my friend and he said that a bunch of the people at his school were talking about how girls don't masturbate. As in, at all. It was a COED group talking about this. Apparently girls in Ohio either don't like to get off.

I don't masturbate. I did for a little bit but I found that it isn't actually all that pleasurable and the annoyingness of all the stickiness that ends up afterwards outweighs any pleasure. In other words, masturbation is overrated.

As my 51st post, I suppose I can go ahead and say hello here.

In order to avoid feeling like I need to actually plan the English lessons I teach, I joined here a few weeks ago so I could waste hours a day online.

And wasn't there something on an earlier page about minimizing off-topic discussion here? Discussion about things like, just as a hypothetical example, voyeur gnomes who keep track of everyone's virginity levels?

But since I'm not a moderator, that's not my job, so

william wrote:if real sex is like my experience with masturbation, I don't need it.

It's not.

Unless stated otherwise, I do not care whether a statement, by itself, constitutes a persuasive political argument. I care whether it's true.

I don't terribly feel the need to keep this thread on topic, since it doesn't really need to be referenced except *right* when a new poster starts posting.

Unless other mods/posters see a real need to keep it tight and easily referenced?

Anyway, welcome Gmal.
