Diablo III is powered by a new graphics engine that can display characters and hordes of monsters in lush, fully 3D environments. Powerful special-effects systems and Havok-powered physics allow the player to lay waste to the Hells' minions in spectacular ways.
Also, Diablo III builds on the random environments of the previous Diablo games by introducing a host of new ways to create random scripted events throughout the game. This creates a dense and exciting world alive with quests, NPCs, dynamic encounters, and viciously challenging new monsters and bosses. Diablo III's environments add a great deal of interactivity to the game, including destructible elements and environmental obstacles that can be turned against your enemies.

- Probably a definite release date for WoW: WotLK and SC2
- Outside chance: Starcraft MMO, Warcraft 4, Diablo 3?

It's definitely Diablo 3, what with the screen saying "Diablo III" now.

Yeah, but think about what might have happened with necromancers. Think about all the new stuff they might have going for them. Maybe summoned skeletons are in the shape of the creature you summoned them out of. Maybe you can create a huge skeleton out of the bones of multiple monsters. There's just no way of telling yet. We need to know what happened to our old favorite, before we definitively switch to the new.
No, the Worldstone got smashed, and now the boundary between planes is more of a suggestion.Gunfingers wrote:At the end of Diablo 2 we banished the prime evils back to hell. We also smashed the soulstones, their only link with earth. There basically should be no remaining means for the forces of good OR evil to come to earth now, right?
But... it's based on the Apocrypha. Not a lot of anything else needs to be there (cool though it fore).Belial wrote:Too much europe in my fantasy lately. Totally going to be my main.

Watered down Angband variant in real time with graphics, basically. Never saw what all the fuss was about.Jack Saladin wrote:So, uhh, I've never actually played a Diablo game. Ever. At all. What's the deal?

Gunfingers wrote:I'm kind of hoping there won't be a lot of return classes. It isn't like Blizzard to just recycle characters*. To be honest i'm shocked the barbarian made a return. Some sort of sorcs making a come-back wouldn't surprise me, but i can't imagine amazons, pallys, and the rest returning as playable characters. I'd really rather Diablo III not just be Diablo II.
*I say this despite the fact that the Diablo franchise is their only RPG franchise, so it's really their only opportunity to repeat characters. That said, none of the playable characters from Diablo were playable again in Diablo II**, so my statement remains technically correct!
**Unless you count the sorceress as a reimagining of the sorceror. God knows she pretty much is.
