And yeah, this really is a shame. xkcd was my favorite webcomic! Now all I have left is Dinosaur Comics...

No. xkcd.com always displays the latest comic, but there's also always a "c###.html" link as well. There is none for this.

April first is a silly day. I enjoyed the extra comic, though. The DRM part cast doubt onto the legitimacy of this announcement, then the ridiculous list of things that would be prohibited (especially sword fights between white people...I don't really see ethnicity/race being expressed in a stick figure comic) and the claim that newspapers are the future ended any doubt for me. It would be kinda funny (mean to the people who believe this or are unsure, though) to have a late monday update or even no monday update...there would be much panicking. Which would, of course, be expected, as the syndication is real.
