OK so a fedora or a panama hat are always awesome choices I think, and personally I picture you in a fedora and it is quite good looking.

That being said have you considered a cloche?

How are you at craftery? I know people who've crocheted aviator caps for themselves, and once I have the time, I'll be doing something similar.

I like fedoras and am considering one. I haven't tried a cloche but it looks like it might fit.

Craft-wise, I can crochet, sew, and make chainmaille. One of those is an option I keep meaning to explore.

Ooh, get a beret.

It'd the type of hat that the Existentialist wears, and is often portrayed on French people and artists.

I second both the tricorn and top hat. Also, thanks for teaching me the word "tricorn," no longer must I call those "three cornered hats."

You don't need a hat, you're hot enough. But if you insist, maybe a black kangol beret? I know, not very anti-conforming but I think it'll look good on you.

How about a bandanna instead of a hat? I think girls with long hair can look good with the right sort of bandanna on (maybe some with a slight pirate accent?).

The latter being also known as, to paraphrase Ricky Gervais, cunts.

Hats to consider: Panama, Kepi, Tam o'Shanter. I'm all in favour of bringing the 20s cloche back as well (pronounced clock, clotch, or closh?) as I love a good flapper.

Also a flatcap, once the pride of desperate Northerners (English) in the midst of the Great Depression, can look eyeball-ejectingly sexy.

You people and your hats... FEH! We don't need no stinking hats! (as illustrated by the discarding of them by Belial and myself) Its not like we have ears to hold them up anyway. Enjoy your hats while you can... We'll use them as floppy bowls for your brainy bits!

Actually, I kind of miss my hat... BUT YOU'VE ALL GONE AND RUINED IT.

I have a selection of interesting headgear, and can only suggest:
A sombrero
An Arabian headscarf/"fanbelt" [From actual Saudi-Arabia! Actually!] (You would think i would remember 4 years of my life. Alas, no)
A fedora (And lets face it, aren't they all cool?)
And a ruskie hat.

Also, its all well and good getting a Panama hat, but you would be willing mocked by butlers worldwide, before falling off the deck at the end of the series (books or television) And returning to London with large beards after getting lost and swimming about a bit.

I got a pork pie hat a few years ago and never regretted it. I feel if you live in a be-hatted place, fedoras might be overdone a bit. I have one, but I rarely wear it. Newsie caps also go very well with anything on the other hand (except maybe formal occasions).

A fedora or flat cap have been on my mind for a while. I also think I want some kind of crocheted hat, but IMHO finding a pattern that wouldn't look ridiculous is like needles and haystacks.

I bought a trilby on a market stall a week ago, and I have a fedora too. The fedora isn't in very good shape though. It's in dire need of replacing.

A fedora would look good on you.

There's a company called "serious" that maks some of the most awesome hats in the world ever.
They're fleecy and really warm. I'm big into caving, so i'm always in and out of outdoor shops.
Alot of Outdoor shops in Ireland seem to have this manufacturers headgear in stock.
I can find very few examples on teh interweb, but this is a good one:
