i received a irl rickroll a few weeks ago.

my now husband was responsible for the music at our wedding 3 weeks ago. he has a huge music collection and i trust his tastes. just to be safe, he ran everything past me and i thought everything was great. day of the wedding, everything turned out beautifully. fast forward to "you may now kiss the bride". he had instructed his brother to play the rickroll as he initiated the kiss. about 3 seconds into the kiss, i realized what he had done and couldn't stop laughing, which confused the small group of guests as only two others understood what was happening.

I know you guys are happily married, but I covet your husband.

Former marching band performer here. Randall speaks truth, I just got rickrolled, etc.

(Although tripping is a little rare for me since it takes half a beat to regain step.)

So, does anyone else beside me tap the accelerator or brake to the beat of their stereo? (The clutch doesn't get that treatment...)

It's nice to know I'm not the only mad person who, the instant they see music on the page, stops and tries to work out what it is, or at least what it would sound like. Though I now feel like a philistine because I don't actually know the piece.

I love the random button.

But now, I'm not sure which I feel worse about....

1) Necro-posting.
2) The fact that I was almost instantly able to identify the music by the bass line by sight.
3) The fact that I still took time to confirm the treble part by sight.
4) The fact that I even KNEW the key signature was correct.
5) The fact that there are a few rhythmic and melodic inaccuracies, and engraving issues I'd want to correct.

Former marching band member (euphonium), current band director.

this isn't always true. Some drum corps/marching bands lead with the right foot.

Necro + first post on a very minor discrepancy? Interesting choice.

In all honesty, how often do you guys come across a store with music that even comes close to matching your stride?

Lots of pop music is in the 100-140 bpm range.

I must say. It is even more fun in the middle of a live "concert" during a song you really hate. Some fell down and some simply continued about half-a-second off-beat. (DIE ONE DIRECTION!!!) I suppose it's a good thing I only march to the beat in my head though. :D
