4 in the middle of the night. Could wake up with anywhere from 1-4 players and either or neither side victorious depending on what Mega was.

Okay! All PMs are sent out (and may I say that there are a ridiculous amount of you).

Day 1 has begun.

You have 96 hours for your first lynch. If you have not reached a decision, then the person with the highest number of votes is lynched. It will be decided randomly by the mods if there are an equal amount of highest votes.

The player list is:

1. JayHsu
2. Blast
3. Megatriorchis
4. crucialityfactor
5. Azrael001
6. Kellsbells
7. Drconcon
8. Vox Imperatoris
9. Overbored
10. Nebuduck
11. Tigion
12. Gojoe
13. une see
14. The Moo Prophet
15. Bulvox
16. Oneofthedragon
17. Cycoden
18. Aeiss
19. Mat-tina
20. Chrismclegless
21. Sarr
22. Ishindri
23. InstinctSage
24. Dashiva33

Rule note: For townies and Mafia, it is preferable to you that the other win. Neither of you want Smiths to win. That is:

Town order of preference to win: Town, Mafia, Smith.
Mafia order of preference to win: Mafia, Town, Smith.
Smith order of preference to win: Smith, Either.

So, if your team gets taken out, don't despair or stop playing.

There are 24 players. 13 votes is required for a lynch. Godspeed.

Just confirming my spot in the game.

I don't know what the prevailing tactic for this round would be... We have a lot of investigation powers.

My tactics for this round involve not becoming an antagonist to jayshu. It would be nice for that to be the case in at least one of current rounds. Past that I really don't know.

Town: 16 = 66.66% chance to lynch
Smiths: 3 = 12.5% chance to lynch
Machines: 5 = 20.83% chance to lynch

Or a 1/3 chance to nail a non-townie. More than half the townies are power roles in one way or another. Trinity and Morpheus not so much so, but it'll be interesting to see how they can team up without seeming scummy.

What's the word on roleclaims and suchlike?

Alright, since we have inventor types here, It's possible that a lie detector device may be created. Therefore everyone should put a blunt statement stating the fact they are pro-town.

I am pro-town. I am an enemy of the smith and the mafia.

Presuming no roleclaims until further notice. It makes the game fairer really. Other wise we could just claim from the offest and smash the mafias etc.

How does that work? I'd assume roleclaiming requires honesty, and mafia certainly wouldn't be honest about being mafia. The only tactic I can think of is using roleclaiming to out the 2 day cops and use their investigations to further the cause on day 1. Reason being, we have NOTHING to go on and it gets the ball rolling. Not something everyone would agree with, but hey, it's an idea.

I can eliminate the (admittedly small) possibility of wasting investigations by the day cops miraculously investigating one another by ordering the list of players alphabetically and suggesting that everyone chimes in. Day cops should only investigate once everyone above them on the list has chimed in. That way, one day cop will investigate and report before the other, and won't investigate the other.

Well, okay, they first day cop could investigate the second, but unless they were up the top of the list they'd know a number of people who weren't day cops.

If someone tried to roleclaim and lie, which could only be a scum tactic, we'd have someone to go after either way.

Chances of an investigation result being a townie are pretty high, and don't absolve the person from total guilt (they could be deus ex machina), but we still have night investigation abilities.

Whoever the day cops are probably wouldn't agree with this, since it puts a big fat target on their head, though. But self preservation isn't a tactic that helps the town.

The town win if everyone roleclaims because either the mafia claim or get lynched anyway. This leaves us with, say 2 mafia and the two one shot cops all pretending to be one shot cops. The town then know where two day cops are. The other thing is that these cops could then each be told a target whom they investigate or make up. The claimers are then lynched giving the town confirmed info etc. Admittedly its not cut and dry but if done reasonably by the town with the 8 player margin the town side would have, and presuming all night kills are successful by the mafia that leaves the town needing to get 8 out of twelve better than 50-50 lynches right. The power roles give us the extra edge putting us at a slight advantage before we involve the skill of reading people. It is what happened in the last crazy round, and it destroyed the mafia's big lead.

I think that the inventor should try to make an investigative tool on the first night, and then if they find something out, make a killing if necessary, a protection if necessary or do some crazy shit.

This entire plan is going to fail dismally. Because there's no way the mods will now allow anyone to create a lie detector device.

I am pro-town. I don't want Smiths or the Mafia to win.

Although I think M&J just forbade roleclaims...

Saying things like "I'm totally a townie", or "Curse those machines" or "I'm afraid I can't let you do that, Dave" (for the suicidal) are totally fine. Hell, the entire game is about convincing everyone you are a townie. Just no roleclaims.

I am pro-town. The machines and Agent Smith suck.

Wouldn't it make more sense to ask for pledges after the lie detector has been created, if the mod so permits?

I was a one-shot day cop in round 5, and I don't think claiming immediately is the way to go. Our cops should wait for the opportune moment. In any case, its not permitted.

Ultimately as long as the mod says it is ok, then wer have nothing to lose by saying it.

Admittedly the invention isn't likely to be a lie detector, but if we get one we can use it easily.

You know, the Oracle is a really powerful device for getting the day going.

First point to make - it doesn't really matter if the Oracle is discovered on the first day - the body guard dude can just protect her every night. I know that it would be marginally better if she remained hidden, but of all the roles, she's the safest when revealed.

Now, I know the Oracle can't role claim, but presumable she can post the result of her investigation. Naturally, she wouldn't say she was the Oracle, but posting a cryptic message, and the target, would kinda give it away.

Now, the interesting thing abotu this is that it would get the discussion going. We'd see if anyone wanted to protect the oracle's target, or attack them specifically, or whatever - by discussing the meaning of the message.

So, this is more powerful than a day cop coming out - a day cop says "XYZ is mafia". XYZ gets lynched (possibly). We don't get much discussion out of it. An oracle comes out - and we should immediately kickstart the discussion.

Oracle: don't come out just yet. Lets hear a few more people's views on this plan.

This makes sense, except for the fact that if the oracle finds a power role they may want to keep it away from being revealed because she just makes a target for the mafia. I would suggest the oracle try to work out who they think the person is role wise before posting, in case they inadvertedly kill Neo or similar...
