Okay, Une See, I did read over your post collection. I'm mostly in agreement with you about OverBored being a cop. The biggest reasons being this:

OverBored wrote:there are two potential targets in my eyes. One of them is Gojoe because of the argument between him and neb, not a lot here but due to nebs role and skill, I would think maybe he could have been identified as a raptor by him.

Because if he's not a cop, this is a really weak attack, and

OverBored wrote:Because I have somewhat attacked him. That is for both counts. I just think Gojoe is a raptor...

Which is not very subtle at all.

At the same time, it is possible he's dropping a lot of cop tells just to get us to believe him. But then, that's really risky given that we've basically called him such, and the real cop (if Overbored isn't) would not put up with that. So overall, I agree with you.

Vote: GoJoe

I think we just need one more. I'd like to point out that if I die tonight (which I believe is very likely), I urge the town to thoroughly investigate both The Moo Prophet and Bulvox.

That's okay. I guess I forgive you...:)

If I die, I think you should all be suspicious of Cycoden, Maseiken, and Azrael001 (and of course Gojoe if he doesn't get lynched today). Those are my picks for mafia. And please, doctor, protect Overbored tonight!

I see someone mentioned my inactivity, and I haven't been able to do much more than check the forums 1 or 2 times a day and try to keep up. I've been working far too much the last 2 weeks or so. Anyway, I'm going to bed now, dead tired. I should be more active over the weekend, I just can't even think straight in the evenings any more.

Hmmmm...
I'm unconvinced of Gojoe's guilt, and I'm a little suspicious of Overbored myself. I don't approve of all this "People I don't like, so get them if I die!" business. It's clearly faulty logic, and speaks to me of either Raptor-ishness or Cop-ishness.

I can't really defend myself against the (very) vague accusations made against me, frankly, I don't think I have to, there's more pressing matters at the moment.

So... yeah, once again, I don't know who to vote for... Maybe I'm just not very good at this... :P

First up, apologies for not posting much recently.

oneofthedragon wrote:Well, I'm glad we got lucky with wombat. I am now suspicious of Cycoden, for both defending wombat, and for for being one of the people on the nebuduck wagon. I don't know if I want to vote for him yet, but I see that as a relatively good lead. Anyone have an opinion on this? I think the tribe may know a raptor however, because of the fact that the leader died, it may be helpful for them to look over the posts of whoever was recruited last night, so that we can attempt to lynch the raptor who the leader tried to recruit.

What? No. I never defended wombat, I was just a bit hesitant to cast the hammer vote again after hammering nebuduck, since I could potentially have hammered two townies, which would be a move that would dangerous to my health. I have been suspicious of wombat since day 1, its just the bandwagon for wombat built up a bit too quickly for my liking, and I realise this is a WIFOM argument, but he was being *so* obviously anti-town, I wasn't sure whether he was a raptor or merely bad at playing the game.

Look at it this way, if I were a raptor, it would have made sense for me to hammer wombat, since nothing was stopping that train, and it would have gained me some credibility. I held off because I couldn't be certain that wombat was a raptor, and I didn't want to cast the hammer vote (potentially on fellow townies) two days in a row.

Anyway, I have time to read the thread now. I will see what I can see...

EBWOP: I suppose I did say "In wombat's defense", but the majority of my posts were attacking wombat, but noting I'm not entirely sure.

cycoden wrote:I kind of have a bad feeling about voting for wombat

We voted Nebuduck off, he was a townie and he should have known better than to act like he was

But wombat has had a chance to redeem himself, and has failed to do so. I suppose in wombats defense he may not have realised that azrael was talking about a different game.

Anyway, I've just got home from work, I'll do a more detailed review, but from a quick skim the case against wombat looks pretty damning...

Spoiler:
jayhsu wrote:Actually, I've been looking over the entire thread and have noticed that several normally very vocal players have been rather silent. The two that stick out to me are Bulvox and The Moo Prophet.

Beyond the occasional vote or affirmation of previous arguments, neither have offered much in the way of personal analysis or strong opinion.
What follows are some posts of note.

Bulvox
Bulvox wrote:ya, all right, i'll go with that.
Vote: WWS

Basic bandwagoning, without providing own reasons for lynching. Even reiteration or providing additional evidence would be helpful. The rest of Bulvox's posts are mostly spam and the like. A few times he gloated about previous wins as mafia (but I'm less inclined to accept this as evidence).

The Moo Prophet

The Moo Prophet wrote:Speaking of Silknor, what's up, buddy? You are tickling my rapt-o-meter already. I guess it is because you are being so aggressive on day one and already doing the line-by-line post breakdowns. I guess that is actually a good thing, but it is unusual mafiascum behavior on day one. Of course, I haven't had the pleasure of playing many games with you yet (I don't think?) so who knows.

Antagonizing Silknor. Perhaps one of the few people to do so. And then Silknor turns up dead on Day 3.
Admittedly, it's not much, but it's also one of the few lengthy analyses that TMP actually deigns to post. It's the second longest post after his discussion on the role of the WitchDoctor.

The Moo Prophet wrote:Wow, I leave the house for a couple of hours and lookit all the votes! Well, cool, if we are going to lynch a lurker today (A lurker with a somewhat scummy outta-the-ass vote) then let's do it.

Vote: Wombat

I know this post will be brought up later, because TMP voted for a Raptor. But I think this is clever distancing. He notes that Wombat already has a lot of votes, and it must make a lot of sense to him to vote for Wombat, as follows:

1. If I defend Wombat, and he turns out a Raptor (which he will), then I'm in deep trouble.
2. I can say nothing, or...
3. I can strengthen my position with the town by voting for Wombat, who is doomed anyway.

I think TMP went with option 3. He's a good player, and that would be the smart play.

Discussion?

Its a good point, but TMP has mentioned that he's been busy with work in his earlier posts; I'm inclined to trust him.

My thoughts are that there should be a cop (if he's investigated a raptor) and a tribes person (if he was alerted to the failed recruit before it happened) who should know the identity of a raptor. There are a few people on the thread who seem adamant that Gojoe is a raptor.

Gojoe hasn't really given a good defense of himself.

Therefore:

FoS: Gojoe

After much indecision, a final vote made the frantic survivors positive that Gojoe was the right one to lynch. Despite his pleas of "Come on guys, be reasonable, I'm totally human!" the survivors dragged him away and unemotionally threw him into the depths of the jungle. Without looking at each other, and each caught up in his or her own troubles, they hurried back to the beach as the sun set over the horizon.

Gojoe has been lynched. It is now Night 3. Send in all night roles to both Tigion and me.

Another dawn has broken over the xkcd encampment. Without speaking, the villagers file down to the jungle in what has become routine. Brusquely they examine the body of Gojoe, and recoil in disgust when his removed hat reveals his scaly hide and long, blood-drenched claws. Feeling victorious and cheering that two of the raptor menace have been killed, the survivors race back towards the beach. However, they don't get far before two things happen in quick succession: a loud, chilling chant is heard, and then only a moment later, a long, tortured scream. The survivors race back to the trail, where they discover the body of Jayhsu, torn asunder and his tribal mask fallen to the wayside. His tribal staff is nowhere to be found. Filled with rage at this atrocity, the survivors return to their encampment, ready to hunt down another raptor in their midst.

Gojoe, a Raptor, was lynched by the town.
Jayhsu, the Tribe Leader, was killed by Raptors.

It is now Day 4. 9 left, 5 to lynch.
A good pun is its own reword.

I find Bulvox slightly more suspicious than TMP, but that is pretty much only because TMP warned us in advance that he would not be as active. I realise thats a pretty weak reason to differentiate between them.

Maiseken sounds very much like Gojoe.

Riiiight, defense.
All I can really say is that my arguments were sincere and (I thought) they were valid.
Also, seriously, the accusations against me were minimal, at most, I didn't feel a defense was necessary at the time... I can see now that a defense is ALWAYS necessary...
I'd like to point out I never actually voted against Gojoe's Lynch. But yeah... I'm pretty much resigned to my fate... I'm not going to antagonise anyone, since I know I brought this on myself.
Sorry for the slight guilt you'll feel when it turns out I'm a Townie...

Alright, I know I said Maseiken was suspicious, but let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Um...especially you, Maseiken. :P (Being the first to vote for yourself? Come on...)

So I was right. I'm not surprised. (For those of you who were surprised- michaelandjimi- have you been paying any attention at all to this thread? It was so obvious that Overbored was a cop and was trying to tell us that Gojoe was guilty.) And I was also right about jayhsu's role, which means that Bulvox or TMP or both are raptors. There are 3 raptors left, and I'm not sure who else is a raptor (I still think Azrael001 is one, but I'm not really that suspicious of Maseiken anymore), but Bulvox/TMP definitely require looking into.

Let's wait for Overbored to give us the results of his investigation. Hopefully, he investigated either Bulvox or TMP.

Um...but remember, the Raptor Leader is still alive, and turns up pro-town. So if either Bulvox or TMP were investigated, and turned up pro-town, that doesn't mean they're necessarily innocent.

Because jayhsu, a confirmed mason, kept hinting that you were a raptor yesterday. And he knows the identity of at least one raptor (I don't know how he knows two raptors, though) because Silknor, the previous Tribe Leader, had tried to recruit one but died. So either you or TMP or both of you are raptors.

No. That doesn't make any sense. If Silknor had tried to recruit Gojoe, and died because of that, there is no way jayhsu would have been so reluctant to lynch Gojoe at first. It's obvious that he attacked you two specifically because he knew you were raptors. I'm not even going to argue with you anymore about this because I am more convinced than ever that you are a raptor and are just desperately trying to save your own skin. I'm going to wait for Overbored to give us the results of his investigation before I vote, though.

Meanwhile, I am no longer suspicious of Azrael001. I can't believe I didn't see this before, but Wombat kept attacking him, even before he started to be attacked himself. So I'm pretty sure Azrael001 is not a raptor now. I am very suspicious of MAJ now, actually.

I don't know who to go for, but we could always lynch one of them and have me investigate the other. There is one other thing I want to point out. The raptor leader, as in most mafia games, is not detectable via investigation.
G4!!

Grob FTW,

Fine, Overbored. Fat lot of good you are. :P And I already pointed out that the raptor leader turns up innocent! Does anyone ever listen to me? :(

Um...okay, I'll vote then:

Oh, and my current picks for mafia are: TMP, Bulvox, MAJ.

Sorry, I've been trying to mod the Matrix game and play in this one and the Hammertime one, not to mention study for my finals, and so everything has gotten confused in my head.

Yes, I think it's likely that one of them is a raptor, but I am quite doubtful that jayhsu had definitive evidence (e.g. Mason Leader killed when trying to recruit), so I bet he just picked the other because he was lurking too.

Back to learning about alkanoates and whatnot.

What? This is impossible! Gojoe was lynched by the town before the night began. There is no way jayhsu could have recruited him. Also, I get the impression that jayhsu was killed as the raptor night kill, not because he tried to recruit someone.

Vote: Bulvox

Une see, if it comes to TMP or Bulvox, I'll switch, but in light of his most recent post I find bulvox more suspicious.
