I'm pretty sure there's no way to get a Pokemon from any of the GB/GBC games into the GBA games.
hideki101 wrote:Question: does that mean that you do or do not like that new guys? That first sentence with that asterisk is kinda open to interpretation.
Anyway I kinda like the new guys (or at least some of them. bidoof/bibarel's design just seem kinda...meh). Zigzagoon is the best early-game rodent IMO.
Off topic, Why no love for third gen? I thought it was one of the best ones, with the introduction of abilities, a new water-based area, the current EV/IV system, natures, and new villains who weren't just a rather large mafia. Sorry, but I kinda thought Team Rocket lacked direction. Teams Aqua/Magma actually had a direction, plan, and a better manga storyline.
Xeio wrote:Yes, there is. Put red/blue/yellow/gold/silver cartrige in a GBA (yay backwards compatability). Get ruby/sapphire to the requisite pokemon center upgrade where you can trade with older versions (not sure exactly where). Trade using cable between two GBA cartridges. Put GBA game into DS with the DS version (you may also need to get DS to requisite area to be able to do this), and you can transfer your party from the GBA version to the DS.
Not all that simple, but do-able (assuming you have 2 GBAs and the cable, and a DS). I'm glad I bought a GBA + GBASP.
ParanoidDrone wrote:IIRC, it's FR/LG that lets you trade with older versions, if by older you mean Ruby and Sapphire. Last I checked, it's impossible for one to trade between RBYGSC and RSEFRLGDP. (Holy acronyms, Batman!)

Also, just because zigzagoon is stronger than rattata doesn't mean its better. They can make all the new legendary pokemon they want, that doesn't make them 'better' than mewtwo/zapdos/moltres/articuno.![]()

I wasn't saying ziggy is stronger than rattata, I was saying he's the best because of looks and the pickup ability, looks being a personal choice. I love abusing the pickup ability, hence I love using Zigzagoon and Linoone

Most of it is. I just don't like change.I just think that when it gets to the point where you aren't familiar with more than half the pokemon in the pokeverse its a little overkill. I mean, gold and silver were cool (woo, new pokemon!), but then you get ruby/sapphire (woo, more pokemon?), and diamond/pearl (um, ok, this is getting crazy), or even the next generation of games...
I mean, all the new features are cool (breeding, pokemon attitude, um... pokemon contests are a neat little quirk too I suppose). I just hate seeing some of my favorites outdated by all these new fangled pokemanz.

hideki101 wrote:I don't really see how the original 151 are getting outdated, though the ones that were originally really strong now seem weaker, I guess. They're only are outdated if you think they are. Dragonite is still one of my favorites, and gyrados still is a danger in the OU metagame, they don't seem that outdated to me.

In my opinion, they either need to make the HM moves not suck or replace them with items.

or better yet, integrate HM effects into a pokemon. Example, anyone with big claws, or can learn some cutting attack can use cut outside of battle, though you will probably need the badge requirement to do so.

Apparently, rotom has new formes. It looks like Rotom takes the form of the object it's haunting.Ondore wrote:The 3rd version for Diamond and Pearl (Platinum) is out already, and there are more Pokemon catchable before you get the National Pokedex. In theory, it is possible to backup your savedata with any of the relatively inexpensive flashcarts on the market with programs such as SavSender or this backup tool.HighCharity wrote:I have a dilemma: I finished the game (Diamond) and I can't decide if I want to restart the game or just keep my old save (I have a lot of high-level Poke's).
