Not enough people here have read Achewood.

It really is just worth starting from the top and working your way through. There are loads of quirks in story (Like the fact that Phillippe never ages and has had about 7 5th B-day parties) and there is depth to the characterisation.

The Great Outdoor Fight book has just come out and thats really worth picking up. Its a hardcover book of one of the biggest story arcs.

Most people here need to read more webcomics, so they would see that what they are currently reading is, in lack of a better term, teh shit.

For example, I present to you a webcomic I'm sure you haven't heard of, even though it's pure awesome. Not only it's funny and thought provoking, it uses features that only available to media posted on a computer. For example, animated strips. It ended in 2004 and I've yet to see any webcomic that use his techniques.

The animation is repetetive, the jokes are really not funny. I don't believe it's all that ground breaking.

I'm actually just getting into webcomics other than xkcd.I just finished reading the Garfield minus Garfield archive; pretty neat if you enjoy a lethargic depressed guy talking to himself. Sluggy Freelance was recommended to me, I'm just starting on that archive; It's gonna take me like a month. Apparently it's been around since 97 :O.

I like Gene Catlow

Gene Catlow is a "life" comic, so there's social commentary (especially in the start where the humans and the anthro animals have some "racial" tensions so to speak). It's got a sprinkling of Sci-Fi/fantasy in it, but generally seems pretty down to earth. Good story driven comic if anyone wants to check it out.

There are many other comics that I read, but at the moment I just finished refreshing my memory on all the story and characters in GC for the third time, so it's the comic on my mind at the moment.

Oh quick warning, I've been told other stuff related to Gene Catlow outside of the comic, is a bit yiffy, so unless you happen to like that sort of stuff I'd suggest sticking to the comic and not looking too far if you value your ability to see.

Some of my favorites include:

The Adventures of Dr. McNinja, which is the perfect lovechild of Rule of Cool and Rule of Funny
Questionable Content, both for indie dorks and non-indie dorks alike
Sinfest, a fun mixture of all sorts of comic types
AWKWARD ZOMBIE for gamers, especially (but not exclusively) for fans of Smash Bros
and That's Just Weird for a glimpse into the mind of The Great MayuZane.

And while I'm at it, I'll add my own craptastic comic, if anyone's interested.

Check out the 'Comics I Enjoy' underneath the weekly comic here. I subscribe to the RSS feeds of Dinosaur Comics, Questionable Content, Perry Bible Fellowship, A Softer World, and Wondermark. Also, some other good ones are Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, The Adventures of Dr. McNinja, Least I Could Do, PHD Comics, Simulated Comic Product, and Sinfest(a comic which I think is the finest on the internet, though its style really is more newspaper panel and is unnaturally consistent, thus not in the same genre as xkcd or Dinosaur Comics).

Yeah, that's a lot... but they're all worthwhile. The internet has more cool things than you'd suspect.

Not that I don't agree with QC or Dr. McNinja, but Sinfest is just really awesome.

Also, Joe and Monkey is great, although it hasn't updated recently.

Slackerz can be either one of the best, or terrible, depending on various preferences of yours. I love it, but I can see how someone could hate it.
