High: yay, we're in the clutches of the Wicked Witch of the West, not the Good Witch of the South. Now, how about those economic relationships with China, Russia, and India...?

High, pt. II: "...just one scared shitless America," got me cackling like I haven't in weeks (WTG, John Oliver!).

High, pt. III: got taken away by Nutshell (Alice in Chains--RIP Layne). It's been awhile. Maybe I need to get sick more often for good altered states w/o illicit drugs? 8)

Low: after getting my grandmother home from the hospital (I was about to go to sleep at the time I got the call), I had to be in her house for several minutes (stereotypical pack-rat old lady house, full of dander, dust, mildew, Glade, Oust!, etc.). So, not only do I have a stomach bug making me ill, which helped a sinus infection I was fighting flare back up, but my sinuses and lungs had to be subjected to that. Oh, and I was running on caffeine the whole time. So, now, I'm miserable, and would be quite happy to have the left side of my face, from the top of my teeth to the middle of my forehead, and from my temple indentation to the edge of my left nostril, completely removed, so I might rest. Instead, I'm drinking lemonade, water, and TN whiskey, having already taken Afrin and Albuterol, and am hoping to be able to neatly collapse and sleep a little. Of course this means my body won't be doing as good as it could at actually getting rid of all this, what with all the drugs, but I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't, right now. And, I really need to do a little job searching tomorrow. So much for that.

High: 72/80 on my Econ. exam. I thought I did...not so great.
High: Fun election party with friends and homemade pizza.
Low: I didn't like either candidates, so the election was going to be disappointing for me either way.

Context : I work as a CG artist in a company doing motion graphics for TV.

Low : getting assigned another small crappy thing to do over the afternoon when I have more interesting things to do. (namely modeling, texturing and animating a rose)

High : finding a good formula for animating my rose. It's (sin(1/(x/150+1/3))^6)*2.2 (don't ask where I use that)
If you want to see what it looks like, the range of interest is x=0 to 200 and y=0 to 2.2

High - offered a job providing my references are okay.

Low - worrying all day that my referees will give me a bum rap (but if they were going to do that then why would they offer a reference?)

Associated low - if/when I get the job it mean I'll have to start working in two weeks.

Secondary, not so important low - my friend came over 'cause she was sick and lonely so I didn't get to finish cleaning my flat.

Secondary high - but I got to see my friend and have social times.

High: Had a laugh with the cute girls *(edited for clarity) working at subway.
Low: Work was slow when I had nothing to do, and then really busy when I actually had jobs, and the other person for tech wasnt in.
Second High: I handled a deaf customer suprisingly well today. Both of us were quite happy by the end of the help and transaction. Pen and paper conversations FTW.

i do however, love irony
actually i enjoy puns in a painful way generally, may parents practically live off puns.
but i don't read in to them when made on purpose.
so if someone says a word that can be enturprated in two or more ways i will take it and run. but when one does it on purpose for a joke, it flies right over my head, i've never been able to understand this phenominin. or spell it

The first half of my day was sort of a continuous High:
Our school's physics and chem. classes went on a field trip to the local University. First off, we visited one of their satellite building- literally across the street from our school. They showed us a fiber optics drawing tower used for research, and some of their "see tiny stuff" equipment. We then headed over to their ARTS building, which is a collaborative project between the Supercomputing and Digital Media departments. They had a room about 100ft. across painted entirely in chroma-key green! There was also some pretty advanced lighting equipment there- let me tell you, shining a pure green light on a pure green screen makes SuperGreen+++. They also had a 12-camera motion capture system.

But by far the most impressive part of the room was the sound system. Our guide played us a few samples, and the quality was better than most concert equipment. The really crazy part was when he cranked the volume and did a sweep from 5 to 100 Hz. The sound literally caused the floor to shake and dust to fall from the roof. Breathing became interesting! After we were done, the guy said that they can't actually go full volume because "The vibration makes the hard drives next door crash".
I don't remember the exact specs of the different computing clusters, but it was pretty impressive for a General university. We also got a look at their development for projecting video onto a hemispheric screen. Think IMAX meets Planetarium.

We then walked over to their computer and electrical engineering department. The coolest part was seeing their plasma research lab in the basement. The main feature was a 30' x 1.5' RF stimulated plasma vessel. It had copper rings around it that were inches thick and about four feet in diameter. I got a look at the (refrigerator-sized) DC power supply- it was reading 100 Amps at 350V. According to our guide, that was lower power than usual  . The whole thing glowed a pretty argon-blue.

There was also some cool stuff about digital graphics and robotics software.
