RULES:
Everyone is paired up into roles, either a member of the Mafia or a Citizen. There are 2 cycles: Day and night. Each Day cycle will last from 8:00 AM CST to 4:00 CST (reason being these are the times at which I have computer access.) During the day cycle, all citizens (and mafia members) must either vote on someone to lynch or abstain from voting. (Yes, you may not kill anyone. Just realize that often, the Mafia chooses to not kill as well on the night if you don't lynch.)
Votes go by majority rules. If you don't vote before 4:00, you abstain for the day. Majority Vote=dead, and if you die, you lose. During the night cycle, which lasts from 4:00 PM to 8:00 AM, all Mafia players decide (through PM or IM) who to kill, then PM me their decision. If there is a tie, the Godfather will break the tie. If no Mafia decision is made, the Godfather chooses the kill for the night. The game keeps going until:
A: The Godfather is lynched.
B: All Mafians are lynched.
C: The Citizens fail to win before there is just one of them left.
Roles:
Citizen Aligned
Basic Citizen
The Basic Citizens are just your everyday people, living in the village of XKCD, unknowning of the menace of the Mafia in their town. Every day after the first killing, they gather and vote on one other Citizen to lynch and kill, under suspicion of being a Mafian.
Detective
The Detective is the most important Citizen role. Each night, they may inspect one player to discover their role. However, if they inspect the Godfather, he/she will appear as a citizen.
Doctor
The Doctor has the ability to save one citizen from dying. Each night, he will be asked to PM me wether or not he wants to use his save. If he does, he becomes a regular citizen. He may use his save on himself, but he only gets one save.
Bodyguard
The Bodyguard may choose to protect one person per night. If that person is attacked by the Mafia, they do not die, and the Bodyguard becomes a regular citizen. The Bodyguard may not protect themselves.
Mafia Aligned
Mafian
Mafians are the schmucks of the Mafia. Each night, they decide on one person to nominate for execution. They are all aware of each other's roles, so that they don't accidentally kill each other. Their vote may be vetoed by the Godfather, if he so chooses.
Godfather
The most important Mafia role, the Godfather may override the Mafia vote for the night, or choose to approve it and let them kill the selected person. If the Godfather dies, the game ends instantly.
Pre-game
1: Sign up here. I'm taking a maximum of 15 people, for simplicity's sake, unless I get an assload more people. After signups, I'll start a new thread for the actual game.
2: I'll PM you with your role. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SHARE YOUR ROLE UNLESS YOU ARE MAFIA.
