Great things that happened to you today*

Postby damienthebloody » Wed Feb 28, 2007 3:57 am UTC

well, today was looking quite average, until only a few minutes ago, when the skies suddenly darkened like nobody's business, and i am now being treated to an incredibly sweet thunderstorm. we have lightning within a few hundred metres of us, and basically the weather has gone all extreme.

it's great.

also, one of the girls in my office just told me that i was "rather tall today", which made me feel good in a confused sort of way.

I woke up in my own bed, which was a nice change from the last four days.

I feel kind of good about myself because I was at the beach today. I went over to this young couple (a year older than myself) and offered this really hot girl my starfish that I had found. I was only fucking around with her, but the guy got really defensive about it and started threatening me. I told him to relax and I walked away, but damn, it made me feel like competition (if only on the smallest level) D:

it just got better - i spent about half an hour at a table outside (but under shelter) with a thunderstorm raging a metre either side of me...great place to sit down with some friends and a hot beverage.

My Web Design teacher gave me credit for a project I didn't do. :D For some reason, she really likes me, even though I don't do anything. *shrug* I guess I just exude computer knowledge.

My English teacher back the due date of our synthesis essay by a week, so it's due March 13. :) That's really exciting. An extra week to work on this stupid essay about marriage. Eight pages, incorporating all the texts we've read so far this quarter (Twelfth Night, Their Eyes Were Watching God, Hedda Gabler). Fuuuun. :(

I think that's it. :D

My huge computer science assignment - originally due this Thursday - was pushed back a week to next Friday.

Unfortunately I decided to procrastinate and now here I am at 12:30 in the morning.

I had my dentist make me a new moulded gumshield, and he let me keep the plastercast of my top jaw. This thing is totally awesome and well worth the cost of having the gumshield made all by itself.

I managed not to look like an idiot in a meeting today!

I have friends visiting in a week!

(Oh shit must plan things!)
One of these days my desk is going to collapse in the middle and all its weight will come down on my knee and tear my new fake ACL. It could be tomorrow. This is my concern.

No club can ever beat swingamers. Not ever. At all.

Just cant.

And the second point seems a bit wierd, like... the way it seems to have absolutely no relevance. Or any way it is actually good in itself. Or is this someone you have already met and posted about somewhere else where I didnt notice?

But anyway, for stuff thats happened at uni, I am totally going to cruise for one subject, and the others I'll have significantly easier than anyone else. And then theres the lan parties on the side. And if hot girls are relevant, I have noticed a number of them around campus, including in tutorials.

And I talked to a number of people who were pretty cool. Daniel is a guy who likes exactly the same old school computer games as me, and is funny and stuff, although he seems to whisper basically all the time.

And Alex is a cool guy too, who likes star trek, which is also cool. (Or I think so, if not taken to any extremes)

Also met a couple of people I didn't like, for example a guy who hated maths, science, science fiction, music containing pianos and "smartasses" and also smokes alot.

what do you mean, no relevance, Toeofdoom? i now have three reasons to go to HPS. passing, interesting discussion, and eye-candy. and the last two should count as good things, or at least do for me.
sorry, i hadn't mentioned her before, but bah!, who needs context?
i noticed her in the HPS lecture on enrollment day, and she just sort of stuck in my mind.
swingamers...swinging single gamers?
free beer club+hacky sack club are ready to take all comers.

Hawknc, that sounds like its 10/10 for spectacle if nothing else. good on you.

Heh, it just seemed a bit wierd to say "theres a hot girl in my class", thats all. It isnt that rare is it? But if it was someone you had specifically noticed and stuff, sure, that is good.

Swingamers = swinburne gamers basically. We have 2 full on games courses at swinburne, and I'm in one, and they made a club, which is just awesome. We have our own T-shirt design, forum, lan parties, and we have a games lab room at the uni. like, a room with a bunch of consoles and gaming PCs. And its getting a $10k upgrade this year. Theres beer there too at the parties, and being still 17 i doubt I'll be expected to bring any. And yeah, its gonna be insane I reckon.

That wind tunnel stuff sounds cool though...

In psych class the teacher commented on the funny awnser I had written on the test

"Some students got very creative with their awnser, one student wrote that "transferring was when a patient would transfer thoughts of their parents or the like to the therapist, and that then counter tranferance would be the money transferred to the therapists bank account *laugh*"
I thought I heard him say "full score" but I might just have imagined it :P

It was a beautiful sunny day today :) And it has been for 3 days straight. I gotta say, right now, this global warming thing seems awesome. If they could find a way to keep it exactly how it is now and not let it get worse, I would fully support that.

1. I woke up on time, having slept amazingly well.

2. The sun came out.

3. I am sporting a new spring dress, white pumps, and straw hat combination which looks fabulous, and I have got several compliments.

4. Work has been a piece of piss today. Most of it spent having a laugh with my colleague, listening to music, and studying.

Looking forward to going for a run later.

Lesse. Today was quite productive.

1. I woke up the first time my alarm went off. Woo! It usually takes three or four snoozes before I wake up. Admittedly, I usually wake up around 5:30, so I was up at 5 this morning. :(
2. The water heater wasn't working when I went to take a shower around 6, so I had to go relight it and then was proud of myself for being useful before I had had any caffeine.
3. On my way to school, I saw eight deer on the side of the road. They were adorable. :)
4. I went to school and actually turned in some assignments. Also, I discovered another way to mask the stories and notes I write during History as something pertaining to class by writing them in an outline form. It's actually pretty nifty. :D
5. I had many compliments on my hair today; I was very pleased. Also, the guy that I like (who happens to be one of my best friends. :() had a pretty random outburst when he saw me this morning and told me how cute it was. :D
6. My nephew is here! He is the cutest four-year old in the history of the earth. Hehe.
7. I'm listening to Bell Orchestre, which is an awesome post-rock band and it pretty much is making whatever sorrows I had drift away.
8. Nikki no longer hates me and we are on our way to repairing the friendship we once had (out of nowhere a few years ago, she decided she didn't like me anymore). She joined the group I'm in for our English class.
9. Oh, and one last thing: I think the guy I like (the one who liked my hair :D) wants me to go see The Arcade Fire with him (if we can get tickets) in Chicago in May. :D

All in all, it was a very nice day. :D

I think i have a semi-concious reaction to try to ignore those people, cause like, they kinda dont seem to quite fit in to my world view, and its also fairly likely that she has severely differing interests from one such as myself anyway.
